Books in the library Collection

To find research resources on mythology start by going to the library home page (http://library.manor.edu), and follow the Find Books hyperlink.  If you are accessing the catalog from off-campus follow the “Remote catalog access” hyperlink and log in using your ID and password.

You will be presented with the library electronic catalog search interface.  Enter the term mythology in the text box and click the Subject search button below.

You will then be presented with the results of your search- a listing of all of the books in the library that address some aspect of mythology.

From this page you can electronically browse the collection and identify which resources are appropriate to your needs.  Once you have located an appropriate resource by examining the record in the library catalog you can either print that record or note the Call Number of that item and find it in the collection.  If you need assistance using the catalog or locating a title please ask the library staff for assistance.  We don’t know that you need help unless you tell us!

As a Note

When thinking of mythology it is common that an individual first thinks of Greek or Roman myth- these are some of the most well known and most commonly taught.  Keep in mind that all cultures have some type of myth or folklore.  Broaden your own knowledge.  Research an area that you are less, or not, familiar with.  Don’t forget Africa, the America’s, Asia, and Europe all have their own distinctive mythologies.
