Information Literacy is defined as the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze and use information. When you attend an information literacy lecture, you will learn about published information and how to find it. You will learn research strategies for finding materials in the library and on the internet, how to get the most from the library web page, how search engines work, how to do online searches efficiently, how to determine the credibility of the information that you receive, how to cite sources correctly, and an overview of issues related to copyright and plagiarism. These lectures are offered to every English 101 course, and to other courses on demand. However, the gist of what is covered in these lectures is available in the Information Literacy course below:
